David Kiger started Worldwide Express – a global logistics company – out of his spare bedroom in Houston. Armed with only $5,000 in his pocket and a smart business plan, David founded what is now the largest logistics company of its kind in the United States.
The company’s founding principle was to give small and midsize businesses the same volume discount in shipping that large companies enjoy. That principle, along with a laser focus on a motivated, well-trained and positive workforce, has sustained Worldwide Express and fed its exponential growth, with current sales in excess of $750 million. He has led the company since the beginning, overseeing all aspects of the business, including the strategic and tactical vision.
Today, David dedicates much of his time and energy to advising and mentoring the brightest business upstarts he can find. Currently, he sits on the board of several diverse companies, including the American Film Institute and TED. He is also a major investor in Alef Mobitech as well as an advisor to Alef founder, Dr. Ganesh Sundaram, and a majority shareholder and Chairman of beGlammed.com.
